what are your thoughts on cussing? My friend cusses because she thinks it is fun, what would you say to her?

Cussing I think is a symptom of a bigger problem–If a person is lost and does not have a relationship with Christ–then no one should expect them to have good speech–because they are lost.
When a Christian is speaking this way oftentimes it is because they feel this will make them fit in or be accepted which is very important to teenagers.
God’s Word teaches us that our conversation should be seasoned with Salt and we should watch what we say because “out of the mouth the heart speaks”. Sometimes though it will take a NEW believer awhile to break this habit–and we as brothers & sisters in Christ should encourage these people and be careful not to judge.

I agree, I think cussing is a matter of acceptance for MOST teens, but not for all. I was talking to a person in our youth group the other day and she said she has just started cussing because she hangs around it so much and has started cussing without meaning to, but she can’t help it because she hears it so much. You can’t go one day in high school, and probably middle school without hearing a cuss word. No matter if it is from a student or teacher. I guess you can control what comes out of your mouth, but it can be hard, especially if you hear it so much, because you begin to think like that.
I understand what you mean, you can’t expect a lost person to act saved.
p.s. I like you pic – national geographic! lol
