OK I must admit–I get the whole reason why teenagers like this movie so much. I just watched it last night because all the kids in my ministry have talked about it so I wanted to experience it for myself. I must say I LOVED it. I think it is a little idealistic about groups coming together in school–but I think that is what everyone really wants is to be accepted by all and a be part of something bigger than themselves. Which reminds me of why I do student ministry. It is not uncommon for a 6th grader to be talking to a Senior in our group and for a Jock to be hanging around with a brainiac. That is why the Body of Christ is so amazing we are connected by something greater than any social order, we have the bond of Jesus Christ which allows us to connect to other believer’s which is simply amazing. If you know Christ as your Savior we are forever connected to the greatest “group” in the world–The Universal Church!–Christ’s Church
AMEN. Have you seen Hairspray? I saw it and hated it – I don’t like the whole musical/movie thing. I haven’t seen high school musical yet, but I can imagine I won’t like it for the simple reason that I don’t like musicals. Maybe I will watch it this summer with Holly Godfrey – She loves it to death!!!!! Once she finds out I haven’t seen it, she may force me into watching it. lol
