Last week our family went to get Holiday pictures done–that’s what the lady called them we told her we wanted our CHRISTmas pictures made. I was thinking there are so many holidays in a year why do they choose to call CHRISTmas “holiday”–anyway that is another day another blog. So Dawson has figured out what pictures are all about and He refused to look at the lady and refused to smile.
In case you are new to family pictures smiling is usually a good part of a successful picture. We were stressed at the time but realized it was actually pretty funny. In Dawson’s mind He was wodering “why is this wacky lady trying to do things to get me to smile?” Autism can be extremely difficult some days but most days it’s just our way of life and Dawson’s personality comes out a little more everyday! He is ornery just like his Daddy!!! So all you families getting CHRISTmas pictures made this year, think about the Shelton’s when you do–balls being thrown, Christmas trees almost falling over, boys wrestling on the carpet–Mom and Dad keeping it all together!

Hey Jody, I found your blog through facebook. I know right where you guys are with therapies and all. Hope, our oldest daughter has CP and and there are some characteristics of austism that come along with that! It’s a whole new world out there!
I hope you guys are well.
Talk to you soon.
